Julia “Twitch” Menard was born on June 20, 1954 as Norma Marie Gokey in Claremont, NH, the daughter of Norman Gokey and Clarine Evans Gokey (who later remarried Frank Woodbury whom Julia considered her father). She passed away on September 18, 2018 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Memorial Hospital from complications of cancer, surrounded by her family, at the age of 64. Julia was the second oldest of her 10 siblings, Marshall, Brenda, James, Randal, Rhonda, Penny, Theressa, Norman, Vicki and Darren.

She has several nieces and nephews from coast to coast, some great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Julie grew up in Windsor VT and went to the Windsor schools. Julia had six children with William Davis, Aaron, Amanda, Nathan, Christopher, Andrew and Angela.

Aaron and Jessica Gokey live in Tunbridge VT with 4 of Aaron’s 5 children (Ieesha, Izaak, William, Tessa and Alisson). Amanda and Richard Favreau live in Littleton, NH with 3 of their 7 children (Meghan, Natasha, Brittany, Cody, Cierra, Kimberly and Kirsten). Nathan Davis and Sarah Levasseur live in Colchester VT with his son Brady.

Christopher and Heidi Davis live in Ruckersville VA with their 2 boys (Landon and Mason). Andrew Davis lives in Windsor VT with his son (Dustin). Angela Davis Munroe lives in Burlington VT, and has 2 children (Makayla and Austin).

She has 3 great grandchildren and one due in March. Julia worked at the State Street School as a crossing guard and in the cafeteria, volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader, and worked with the summer recreation program as a counselor at the common and at Kennedy’s pond. She worked at the Music Stand.

She worked at Purity Supreme for several years. Her next adventure was Wal-Mart in Claremont, Littleton and West Lebanon. Julia lived in Windsor VT, Enfield NH, West Lebanon NH, Littleton NH and back to West Lebanon NH.

She traveled up and down the east coast and even spent time in Florida during hurricane Andrew. She was a spunky and feisty little lady to the end. She loved watching wrestling on Monday and Tuesday nights with her bird “Baby”.

She also loved the time she spent with her best friend Katherine Evarts, watching scary movies and hanging out. There will be a Celebration of Life on November 3, 2018 at the Windsor Welcome Center, 3 Railroad Ave, Windsor VT between the hours of 11am and 5pm. It is potluck so bring your favorite dish to share.
