Condolences are being expressed to the family of Mr. Kara June Mason, Jr., age 64, who passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Kara June Mason, Jr. (June), son of the late Kara June Mason, Sr. and the late Rozelle Cornwell Mason, was born on December 5, 1954, in Durham, North Carolina. June leaves to mourn his loss, but also cherish his memory, his daughter, Tonya Wilson, Nashville, TN; son, Kara June Mason III (Kemba), Wake Forest, N.C.; two grandchildren, Jasmine Mason and Kara June (KJ) Mason IV; his former wife, Jeanette Mason; one brother, Jerry Council; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Kara June Mason, Sr. and Rozelle Cornwell Mason, June was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Council.

June received his education in the public schools of Durham, North Carolina. He served active duty in the Army for four years. After being honorably discharged, he became employed at an Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) retail store in Durham, North Carolina for over 17 years.
