Karen B. Bain, 80, of Monaca, passed away, Sunday, February 17, 2019. She was born September 27, 1938 in Pittsburgh; a daughter of William S. and Velma (Rabold) Metzgar. Mrs. Bain was a graduate of West Allegheny High School class of 1956.

She worked as a switch board operator for Bell Telephone and Aliquippa Hospital, where she retired. Karen loved animals. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and shopping.

59 years ago, on April 10, 1959, she married, William “Bill” Bain, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Scott A. Bain of Monacca; a daughter, Dana Bates of North Fayette Township; a granddaughter, Paige Victoria (Justin) Hoover; soon to be great grandson, Ryder William Hoover; a sister, Ruth (John) Schrieber; two sisters-in-law, Barb Ackman and Deb (Bill) Elias; a brother-in-law, James Bain; many neices and nephews; and special friends, Lorene (Bill) King, Peggy (Russ) Maurer and Alice Weeks. Family will receive friends Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 2-8 pm at Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave.

, McDonald, where services will take place Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery. Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice of Beaver County and the North Branch Presbyterian Church family.
