Karen Roberson Williams, 51, of Tuscaloosa, passed away January 27, 2019, surrounded by her loving family after a 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to parents Michael Roberson and Margaret Whitten Yarber, October 12, 1967, in Florence, AL. Karen graduated from Wilson High School in 1986 and worked at Martin’s Family Clothing for many years before moving to Tuscaloosa with her family and enjoying a long career at The Bank of Tuscaloosa until she was diagnosed with cancer.

Karen was married to Mark Williams in 1997, after meeting in 1987 and soon realizing he was the love of her life. Karen is survived by her husband Mark and their two children Brianna and Braeden Williams. Karen is also survived by her mother Margaret Yarber, her father Michael Roberson, and her grandmother Ruth Whitten.

Karen also leaves behind her two siblings Cherion Killen (Russell) and Darren Roberson (Amanda), sisters-in-law Zinia Bennet (James), Tina Hart (Charlie), Trina Williams, Sabrina Gordon (Lewis), brothers-in-law Terry Patterson, and Hilton Germany as well as many loving relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her stepfather Jimmy N. Yarber, her mother and father-in-law Betty Ruth and Willie L. Williams, her grandfather Julius Howard Whitten, and her grandparents Elvis H. Roberson and Eva Mae Roberson. Karen was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling any chance she could, especially when it involved sand, sun, and the ocean.

Karen was immensely proud of her family and cherished the moments she got to spend with them above all else. Karen had a servant’s heart and led by example in truly putting others first. Karen had a great faith in her Heavenly Father which allowed her a peace and grace comforting her through until the very end.

Karen leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the fondest of memories. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 31 at 1 pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel in Florence, AL. Visitation will be held before the service beginning at 12:00 Noon.

The burial service will take place immediately following at Antioch Cemetery. There will be a memorial service held in Karen’s honor on Saturday, February 2 at 11 am at the former New Covenant Church/Daystar Tuscaloosa Campus. An online guest book may be signed at greenviewmemorial.com.
