Karen Martin, 74, of McDonald, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Cleveland Clinic. Karen was born September 27, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of William and Kathryn (LaRue) Walter. She graduated from Altman Hospital as a Registered X-Ray Technician.

Karen had previously worked at Cafaro Hospital, and retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Canton, Army Navy Garrison #360, and was on the Army Navy Garrison bocce league. Karen was an avid Miami Dolphins and Ohio State fan.

She had many loves in her life including animals, dolphins, flowers and watching Nascar especially Dale Earnhart Jr. Karen was a volunteer at Canton Calvary Mission, and helped out a sponsor child from Hati. She was always helping out those in need, and was truly a beautiful soul. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Barbie Walter of Canton, brother in laws, Thomas (Mary) Martin, and Richard (Lori) Martin both of McDonald, sister in law, Betty (Regie) Buser of Girard, her extended family, Shirley Cavnah of Barberton, Kim Cavnah of North Canton, Robin Watson of Barberton, Mike Cavnah of Atlanta, GA, and Tim Cavnah of Caro MI, along with several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley D. “Wes” Martin, whom passed away December 6, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 11th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday May 11th, from 10 until the time of service, and also on Friday from 4-7PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin El-Hayak for his kind and compassionate care that was always given to Karen, and the staff at SIU floor G5.
