Obituary for Karl Joseph Mastele Karl J. Mastele, 92 of, North Huntingdon died Tuesday April 17, 2018 in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born December 24, 1925 in Pittsburgh he was the son of the late Karl and Mathilda Schellhorn Mastele. Prior to his retirement Karl was employed as a production worker for Westland Dairy of Greensburg, and was at one time employed Meadow Gold Dairy of Pittsburgh.
He was a member and usher of the St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Karl was a WWII veteran having served in the United States Merchant Marines, and was a member of VFW Post 781 of Irwin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Dolores C. (Smith) Mastele, a son Keith Steven Mastele, a granddaughter Yvonne Crawford, a brother John Mastele, two sisters, Tillie Cronmiller, and Evelyn “Babe” Castelli.
Surviving are four children, Doreen Sever and husband, Fred, of West Newton, Jeannette Briggs, of North Versailles, Karl J. Mastele and wife, Roseann, of North Huntingdon, Michele Forgie and husband, Alex, of Irwin, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, dear friends and family. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave.
on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Parting Prayers will take place on Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
