Katherine “Kay” Kovacs passed away Monday October 22, 2018 at Roosevelt Care Center at Old Bridge. She was born in Perth Amboy and resided in Iselin and Metuchen before moving to Old Bridge in 2014. Mrs. Kovacs was a Customer Service Representative for Verizon for 35 years retiring in 1992.

Katherine was an avid reader and a superb knitter. She enjoyed watching movies, musicals and traveling but most of all spending time with her family. Kay was predeceased by her husband Frank Kovacs and her parents Leon and Maud Rhodes.

Surviving are her children Katherine Neary and her husband Ronald, Valerie Cemprola and her husband Michael, Gregory Kovacs and his wife Luanne, Kristine Kovacs, her grandchildren Grant Neary and his wife Kim, Michael Cemprola and his wife Kate Ambacher, Robert Cemprola, Erica Villanueva , Adam Kovacs and his wife Barbara, Scott Kovacs, Molly Jette and her husband Tyler, Frank Kovacs as well as 5 great grandchildren. Kay is also survived by her brother Ronald Rhodes and his wife Donna and her sister Linda Rhodes. Visitation Friday October 26, 2018 10:00AM to 12:00 Noon at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road Edison.
