Carl, 65, of Tamaqua, formerly of Lehighton, died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. Born in Washington Township, April 28, 1953, Katherine was the daughter of the late Melvin C. and Annie Mae (Hunsicker) Christman. She was employed at Techna- Plastic, Inc. in Lehighton for the past 8 years.

Prior to that, Katherine worked at the former Paris Accessories in Walnutport for many years. She was a member of Zion Church Lewistown Valley, Tamaqua. Survivors: Children, Barbara C. Dean of Boyertown, Robert H. Christman of Lehighton, Clara A. Schaeffer of Lehighton; Sisters, Linda L. Leiby (Scott) of Tamaqua, Ruby G. Craig of Weissport, Maryann E. Heffelfinger of Albrightsville; 7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and 3 step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by sister, Gloria R. Christman.

Services: Family and friends may pay their respects from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 4906 Route 309 Schnecksville. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 5, 2019 at Zion Church Lewistown Valley, 489 Valley Road, Tamaqua PA. Private interment will take place at Heidelberg Union Cemetery, Slatington PA.
