Kathleen (Kathy) Patricia Nakatani, 78 of Vacaville passed away November 25, 2018, after a five-year journey with dementia. She was born in Chicago, IL on November 28, 1939. Kathy’s beloved husband, Fred Nakatani recently passed away on November 9, 2018.

They were married for 40 years. She is survived by her children, Michael (Annie) LaRocco, Cindy LaRocco, Vincent LaRocco, Lisa (Jim) McKim, Richard (Sharmain) Nakatani and stepdaughter/neice Verlene Nakatani. She is also survived… Read More » by her grandchildren, Sheridan (Clark) Lee, Victor (Nastasia) LaRocco, Kara LaRocco, Tony LaRocco, Jesse McKim, Ashley, Sierra and Cheyenne Nakatani and Pearlani (Andy) Naverez.

Great grandchildren Andrew, Isaac Jr., Scarlett, Emerick and Kaleia. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Yoshiko Sanchez, brother-in-law Harry Nakatani (Dolores) and sister in-law Terry Nakatani. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Campbell Bailey and parents Stanley Bailey and Kathleen (Robert) Ballard.

Aunt Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, including great and great-great nieces and nephews. Kathy is also survived by her very dear friend, Lynn Ruiz. Kathy attended schools in Southern California and moved to Vacaville in 1961.

She worked at the Nut Tree restaurant as a waitress for 20 years. Her career spanned over 30 years in the food industry and was very proud of her work and loved serving her customers. Kathy was a hobbyist who dabbled in many crafts; knitting, crocheting, beading, but sewing was her specialty.

She loved arranging flowers, even spent time working at a local florist for a few years. She and Fred had passion for raising parakeets, a hobby they enjoyed together. However, her cats delighted her most.

If there was a cat within a mile, it found its way to her porch and would soon be her feline friend for life. Kathy loved her cats.
