Kathleen Mary Bothem, born October 30, 1942 in Montclair NJ, passed away July 6, 2018 at her Woodland Acre’s home in Pittsburgh PA, after battling cancer. She was welcomed into the next life by parents John and Doris Bothem; sister Diane Huizenga; niece Heather McHose; and nephew Glen McHose. She is dearly loved and will be inexplicably missed by her sister Bonnie Ondre; brother Charles Bothem; sister-in-law Nancy Bothem; nephews Greg Ondre, Steven Ondre, David Bothem and Brian Bothem; nieces Devon Moore, Colleen Moore, and Kelly Smith; twelve great nieces and nephews, many cousins and close relatives, beloved friends, two spoiled cats, and a collection of deer, turkeys, raccoons, and birds.

Kathy was treasured by all who were lucky enough to have known her and have been a part of her life. Family and friends meant the world to Kathy. She will always remain “Aunt Kathy” to all.

Kathy made all of us stronger and she made all of us feel loved. She possessed quick wit, a great sense of humor, and a passion for learning. It is no wonder she was admired and loved by all.

Kathy was undeniably magnetic. Kathy was a flight attendant for 34 years, naturally emboldening her tremendous sense of adventure, trailblazing character, and empathy for mankind. Throughout her career she developed lifelong relationships and enjoyed raising hell with the “airbags” to the bitter end.

She was a proud member of the Golden Wings, an active member of the Screen Actors Guild and she launched Bothem Artist Management. Kathy gained a wonderful sense of purpose when she met Torsten and Amanda Brown. She adored Torsten and Mandy and she cherished the years she spent with them and their children.

The infinite grief created by her loss is the price we must all pay to have witnessed her love, laughter, and support. We must joyfully and cheerfully say goodbye – after all she would not have it any other way. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 21st at 3:00pm in her garden.

In lieu of flowers, enjoy a stiff drink and good conversation with someone you love – she would have wanted that.
