Mrs. Kathrine Berger, 80 of Navasota passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at The Med in College Station, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 5th at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will begin at 8:00 am prior to the service.

Pastor Henry Sanders will officiate and interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. Kathrine was born in Navasota, Texas on September 24, 1938 to Alvin and Valerie (Brewer) Hardwick.

She met the love of her life, Thomas S. Berger and they were married at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson, Texas on August 24, 1957. Together they raised four children. As a family they loved to go camping and boating at Lake Somerville and during the summer they would take vacations to the beach in Galveston.

Kathrine loved to garden and enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden. She worked as the cafeteria superintendent for the school district for many years (which she loved very much) and after her retirement she operated a day care. She had always loved children, especially her grandchildren and loved being around them.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Danny and Marsha Berger of Navasota; daughters and sons-in-law Glenda and Roger Supak of Caldwell, Denise and Elroy Stolz of Washington and Alleen Sledge of Navasota; grandchildren Leslie Stolz Stewart and husband Barclay, Holly Supak, Cody Berger and wife Kristy, Marlee Berger, Adam Supak and wife Brandi, Wesley Stolz and wife Amanda and Trey Meekins; brother and sister-in-law Alford and Debra Hardwick of Navasota; sister-in-law Anna Joswiak of Anderson; step sister Joyce Grupa; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Cody Berger, Adam Supak, and Wesley Stolz. Kathrine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas S. Berger; brother Alvin Hardwick, Jr.; step-mother Bernice Hardwick and son-in-law Sam Sledge.
