Kathryn Ann Brown Parker, age 78, died Sunday morning, December 16, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. Born December 23, 1939, she was the eldest daughter of O.B. & Elizabeth Brown and a lifelong resident of Stone County, making her home in the Magnolia Community. Kathryn is preceded in death by her youngest son, Ryan Blake Parker.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donny Wade Parker and 6 Children; Lori (Dale) Griffin, Myla (Dale) Main, Britt (Leigh) Parker, Todd (Aletha)… Read More » Parker, Treba (Dave) Davis, Obey (Lisa) Parker; 8 Grandchildren; Logan (Alissa) Main, Madison (Jake) Nichelson, Cody Parker, Tristen Parker, Dasha (Ben) Cowart, Jim (Sherine) Davis, Micah (Samantha) Bardwell, Ariel Bardwell; 11 Great Grandchildren; Wyatt, Novalee, Adalynn, Liam, Connor, Kole, Daylen, Dawson, Olivia, Myles, & Hayley. Kathryn was a country girl who loved country life…from milking cows to tending the garden & canning vegetables, to raising chickens & selling eggs. Riding through the pastures with Donny checking the herd for newborn calves was one of her favorite things to do.

She had a love for flowers & every plant she touched flourished under her “green thumb”. She was always ready to attend a craft show & later stop to eat at Cracker Barrel. She was one of the best cooks around & would never let anyone leave hungry.

She passed her knowledge in the kitchen down to all her daughters, sons, & daughters-in-law making family gatherings a place for plenty of good eating. She never met a stranger & loved to talk, calling her children & grandchildren daily just to check in on them. She worked as a mail carrier for several years, but would always make time to check on the elderly people on her route.

The thing she was best known for, by all that knew her, was her heart of gold & caring nature. She loved her family beyond measure & all the grandchildren agreed with Logan when he said, “There may be other Grandmas but there’s no other Grandma like mine”. She always teased us saying, “Ya’ll are gonna miss me when I’m gone!

” & she was right! Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2018 at Moore Funeral Service in Wiggins with burial to follow in the O. B. Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Moore Funeral Service in Wiggins.
