Kathryn Nolan Soisson, 52, of Greensburg, passed from this earth on January, 31, 2019. The beloved wife of Paul Michael Soisson, and devoted mother of Ryan Michael and Anna Kathryn, her family believes she was, “an angel here on earth”. Throughout her life, Kathy treasured family above all else.
She was devoted not only to her husband and children, but also to her parents, Arthur H. and Anne (Nolan) Green, of Greensburg, her Aunt Nannie, as well as her sisters, Mary Beth (Curt) Siverling, of Chester Springs, and Ellen (Craig) Liberatore, of Greensburg, as well as her numerous loving in-laws and 19 adoring nieces and nephews. She was born July 12, 1966 in Pittsburgh. A graduate of Gateway High School in Monroeville, Kathy held a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown and a Master of Arts in elementary education from Penn State University.
She was a beloved teacher at West Point Elementary School in the Hempfield School District for the past 13 years and a favorite teacher of hundreds of students during her 22 years as an elementary school teacher. Kathy took extraordinary pride in her teaching and considered it be a calling, not a career. She left behind many students who will always remember her beautiful smile and extraordinary kindness.
A devoted and faithful Roman Catholic, Kathy was an active member of Saint Vincent Basilica Parish in Latrobe. She also volunteered for numerous activities in her school and church communities. An avid traveler, Kathy made every trip interesting for her family because of her detailed research and planning.
She loved to run and swim and she treasured her summer vacations at the beach with her family. But more than anything, she loved listening to her dear Anna sing and watching her beloved Ryan play basketball. Kathy was pre-deceased by her maternal grandparents, Richard and Frances Nolan, and paternal grandparents, Arthur and Anne Green, as well as her paternal aunt, Mary Green, and maternal uncle, Richard Nolan.
