Obituary for Kathy Travis Emerson CHATHAM, Kathy Travis Emerson, age 67, of Chatham, VA, entered into rest on March 7, 2019 at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. She was born on August 19, 1951, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Harvey Mason Travis and the late Ida Mixer Hodges. She was a member of Rich Acres Baptist Church and attended Oak Ridge Christian Church.

She loved gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by one son, Lee (Susan) Gibson of Penhook; one daughter, Jennifer Gibson (Bart) Reynolds of Chatham; five grandchildren, LeAnn Gibson, Cheyenne (John) Stein, Ethan Reynolds, Kayla Reynolds, and Wyatt Reynolds; a great-grandchild, J.D. Stein; a sister, Sandra Murphy; and her significant other, Johnny Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers David Travis and Dennis Travis.

Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home on Sunday March 10, 2019 at 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Christian Church Cemetery on Monday March 11, 2019 at 1:30 pm. The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
