Katsuyo “Kathy” Garner, 74, of Beaufort, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Garner loved traveling, visiting National Parks, and spending time with family. The family will celebrate her life privately.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Buddy Garner of Beaufort; daughter, Lisa Garner Lawrence and husband, Roland of Beaufort; son, David Garner and wife, Carolyn; son, James Garner and wife, Atsuko of Tokyo, Japan; grandchildren, Shelby Garner of Dallas, TX; Davis Lawrence of Beaufort; and Angelica Garner of Waltersboro, SC; two sisters, Tomoe Inanaga and Harue Harada of Tokyo, Japan; brother, Kazuichiro Wakiya of Tokyo , Japan; and numerous nieces and nephews living in Japan and Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomichi and Tefu Wakiya. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crystal Coast Hospice House, PO Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
