OBITUARY Kazuko “Kay” Worden January 25, 1924 – July 21, 2018 Kazuko, Kay, Worden, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 21st, at Popa’s Home Care Facility in Colorado Springs. She was born and raised in Japan. During WWII, she was employed at an army airbase where she met the love of her life, Harold Dean Worden.

After a brief courtship, they were married. In 1950, when Dean finished his tour of duty, the young bride left her home and moved to Colorado Springs where Dean was stationed at Fort Carson. In 1980, they moved to Calhan, CO, where they remained.

After her husband’s death, Kay became active in the United Methodist Church of Calhan; there she established many close friendships. She loved her church family very much. Kay is survived by her three nieces, Donna Anderson, Sandra Uhrin, Sharon Postil, and their families.

She also leaves behind a devoted church family and many dear friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Popa’s for their wonderful care during Kay’s residency at their facility. They would also like to thank the members of the United Methodist Church for their prayers, care and support of Kay throughout the years.

A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, July 27th, at Calhan United Methodist Church. A light luncheon will follow. Interment will be later in the day at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the memorials be given to Kay’s beloved church. FAMILY Donna Anderson, Niece Harold Dean Worden, Husband Kay is also survived by many devoted church family and many dear friends.
