Keith Everett Miller, age 71, of Knox, passed away unexpectedly at his home following a sudden illness on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Born January 9, 1948 in Oil City, he was the son of the late Everett O. and Bernice G. Bell Miller. He graduated from Keystone High School in 1966, attended Penn State and was a graduate of Lincoln Welding School.

On May 4, 1968, Keith married the former Ruby J. Cotherman and she survives. He worked as an electrician/welder for Joy Manufacturing for 43 years; was a referee and coach for 47 years and owned and operated Miller’s Sporting Goods, along with his wife. Keith was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church and attended the Knox United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and sang in the choir.

He was a 47 year member of the Edenburg Lodge; #550 a member of the Venango Lodge of Perfection; the Coudersport Consistory and was a Zem Zem. Keith was also a Cub Scout master, 4H Leader, member of the Clarion County Fair Board and equipment manager for the Knox Little League. He was the founder of the Keystone Diamond Club and Beef Chairman for the Clarion County Fair.

Keith was an avid fisherman but found the greatest joy in time spent with his grandchildren, who were “the apple of his eye”. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Brian Keith Miller and his wife, Deanna, of Knox and their two children, Rielle and Brock, and Chad Miller and his wife, Jennifer, of Louisville, Kentucky. Keith is also survived by a sister, Kathy Silves of Lancaster; a brother-in-law, Robert Cotherman of Knox and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Dan and June Cotherman and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Cotherman. Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Knox United Methodist Church, 9729 Route 338, Knox, with Reverend Wade Barto, pastor of the church, officiating.

The Edenburg Lodge #550 will hold a masonic service at 11 a.m. in the church prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery, Beaver Township, Clarion County.
