Kenneth Harley Breeden, age 77, of Dawsonville, GA. passed away December 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Lorene Breeden; brothers, Robert and Frank Breeden.

Ken has lived in the Atlanta area since 1960 when he was a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His career in education was stellar. He was appointed by Gov.

Joe Frank Harris to implement the Technical College program in the state of Georgia. Ken was a true visionary. His work provided the finest educational opportunities to thousands of Georgians seeking post secondary education, by organizing and standardizing the technical education system.

He was also a loving husband and father who never let his work keep him from his family. He spent many weekends hiking trails, spending time on Lake Hartwell and in Helen, GA with his beloved wife and children. He was also a “surrogate father” to many of the family’s friends.

His love of life and the outdoors were qualities admired by all who knew him. Ken is survived by his wife, Gerri Breeden of Dawsonville; children, Kenneth Michael (Barbara) Breeden of Orange Park, FL, Stacy Breeden (Shannon Lee) O’Quinn of Ridgeland, SC, Matthew Clay Breeden of Brookhaven, GA; grandchildren; Christopher Michael (Sharon) Breeden, Austin Morgan O’Quinn; sisters, Nancy and Carole. Memorial Services will be held at a later date to be announced.
