Kenneth “Ken” D. Mason, 63, of Grundy Center, passed away on Wednesday, October 31st at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, after a lengthy illness. A private family gathering will take place and per Ken’s wishes, his body will be cremated. Memorials may be directed to the family.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center is caring for Ken and his family. Ken was born on December 24, 1954, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to his parents Gene & Jo (Swearingen) Mason. He worked many years for Lennox in Marshalltown and most recently for Norwesco, in Grundy Center.

Ken enjoyed bowling and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jan of Grundy Center; children Jason (Sierra) Mason of Conrad and Selena (Ed) Race of Wisconsin; step-son Ryan (Dina) Petersen of Grundy Center; grandchildren Kaity Hansen, Zach (Michele) Hansen, Alex Mason, Kourtney Hansen and Joe Mason; great-granddaughter Jasmine Hansen and 1 on the way; brother Rod Mason of New Mexico.
