Kenneth J. “Kenny” Steinmetz, 87, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday evening, December 3, 2018 at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1931, in New Riegel, Ohio, to Urban and Irene (Kurtz) Steinmetz. On June 27, 1953, he married Clara “Sis” Shaw.

Survivors include his wife, Clara “Sis” Steinmetz of Tiffin; brother, Eugene Steinmetz of Wilmington, Ohio; sisters, Geraldine Fredritz of Carey; Dorothy (Carl) Peiffer of Findlay and Gervase Eubanks of Crestview, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Urban Steinmetz, Jr.; and sisters, Martha Elchert and Evelyn Thompson. Kenny graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School in 1950 and served in the United States Navy for two years.

After serving in the Navy, he was a carpenter for many area contractors; retiring in 1993. He enjoyed doing yard work, collecting old tools, trips to the Amish Country, RVing road trips, was a handyman and a man of perfection. His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev.

Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County or to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
