Obituary for Mr. Kenneth Lacy Kenneth Lacy suffered much with his illness prior to and after returning to North Carolina, though many of us do not know fully to what extent, yet he lived in such a manner to touch so many with whom he made contact with whatsoever his hands found to do. After a brief illness, he departed this life on Monday, December 3, 2018. Whereas, the town of Parmele lost a valuable member in the death of Kenneth “Kent” Lacy, he will be remembered fondly for all time.
Kenneth began his religious experience at Providence Baptist Church in Robersonville, NC for nearly twenty years. After returning home from the state of Ohio, he continued his religious experience at Olive Branch Baptist Church in Parmele, NC, until his declining health prevented his will power. Be it resolved that, Kenneth graduated from Robersonville High School, Robersonville, NC, May 1974, rightfully claiming the top ten percent of his graduating class.
Be it resolved that, Kenneth satisfied his dream of obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics at Fayetteville State University (FSU), Fayetteville, NC. Be it further resolved that, Kenneth joined the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, better known as a Que or Que-Dog at FSU. Be it resolved that, Kenneth was a meteorologist.
He received a Fellowship grant to study at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) to study meteorology, for which he succeeded and worked as a meteorologist at the National Weather Center in Asheville, NC for nearly eight years. Be it resolved that, Kenneth maintained the cutting-edge of his Math Degree, he moved back home and taught math at Roanoke High School for two-to-three years. Be it resolved that, Kenneth moved to Ohio and taught honors geometry in the Ohio Public Schools system.
During his residence there, his health began to decline and he eventually moved back to North Carolina, and Be it further resolved that, Kenneth became an adjunct instructor for the continuing education program at Martin Community College in 2010. Kenneth Lacy was the twelfth child of twelve children belonging to the late Hugh Morris and Zella Mae Lacy; six boys and six girls. Preceding him in death are three brothers, Jimmy Lee Lacy, Willie Mack Little, and James Earl Little.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories six sisters, Lillie Loving of Philadelphia, PA, Mulinda Lloyd of Louisville, KY, Doris Roberson (McCoy) of Parmele, NC, Margaret Redmond of Greenville, NC, Marjorie K. Ross (Clayton) of Robersonville, NC, Joyce Dawes (Dalton) of Robersonville, NC; two brothers, Morris Lacy of Robersonville, NC and Joseph Lacy of Bethel, NC; one aunt, Mary Webster of New York; a dear cousin and friend, Arlen Wallace, Everett, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and associates.
