OBITUARY Kenneth Ray Kirkland II December 20, 1974 – December 3, 2018 Kenneth Ray Kirkland, II, 43, of Moulton, left this earthly world and entered into his eternal reward on December 3, 2018. He was born on December 20, 1974, in Huntington Park, CA, to Kenneth Ray Kirkland, I, and Jacquelyn Vieux. After graduating from Seguin High School, Ken attended a trade school in Oregon but returned home to care for his father who became ill with cancer.

After his dad’s passing, he remained in Seguin working various jobs in construction and electricity. He also operated his own framing business for a short time. He truly was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help anyone with whatever they needed, even random people on the side of the road or in grocery stores.

He married Lindsey Ann Hermes on April 10, 2004, and renewed that marriage in the Catholic Church on May 9, 2013. They made their home in Moulton with their three children, Keegan, Hope, and Kenton Kirkland. He truly loved his children and loved them deeply with all his heart, always imparting his “front porch” wisdom to Keegan, going “vintage shopping” with Hope, and fishing streams and rivers with Kenton.

There is nothing he wouldn’t do for the three of them. Ken also marveled in finding good deals at pawn shops, Good Will, and garage sales but didn’t hesitate to spoil the ones closest to him by whatever means necessary, either. He had a passion for loud music and fast motorcycles and often turned heads with his gruff appearance.

His heart, though, was as gentle, kind, and giving as they come, and he enjoyed living a servant life. He was preceded in death by his father and grandfather Rhea Floyd Kirkland. He is survived by his wife, children, grandmother Vedna Mae Kirkland of Seguin, uncle James (Gladys) Kirkland of Seguin, brothers Allen (Tara) Wallace, Jr., of New Braunfels, Curtis (Kimberly) Allen of New Braunfels, James Kirkland of Seguin, David Cromer of Fort Worth, and Daniel (Brenda) Gonzales of San Antonio, sisters Karen (Mark) Farris of Mesa, AZ, Davina (John) Hyres of Front Royal, VA, and Sabrina Allen of New Braunfels, and father and mother-in-law Allen and Barbara Hermes of Moulton.
