Kent’s Obituary KENT McKEAN COOPER was born in Glenside, PA on September 15, 1944 to Joseph Edgar and Virginia Alvine (Seifert) Cooper and died in Denton, TX on January 2, 2019. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Kristin Brodsky Cooper. Kent is survived by his sister, Lynda Orlando (Sal); his two nephews, Jon Gray (Becky) and Christopher Gray (Heather); his three great-nephews Finnian, Desmond and Beau and his great-niece Marlowe.

Also surviving are many loving cousins and his companion cat, Calvin. As his dad was career Army, Kent grew up and went to school in many places: Tokyo-Yokohama, Japan; Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; Charlottesville, VA; Ft.

Meade, MD; Paris, France; and Ft. Sheridan, IL. He graduated from Highland Park High School in IL and then traveled to the University of Tulsa where he earned both BS and BM degrees in Aerospace Engineering.

It was also at TU that Kent met his wife. After graduation, Kent went to work for Ling-Temco-Vought, Crescent Dallas, and then Dring Engineering, all in the Dallas area. In 1991 Kent and Tim Moore founded Cooper and Moore Engineering Corp, a commercial HVAC contractor serving the Dallas area.

He really appreciated the sense of independence and empowerment that came from running his own company. Kent loved books almost above anything besides cars, airplanes and his family. The family would like to thank VNA Ann Haven’s Hospice and Living Well Senior Care for the wonderful care given to their loved one.

Services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors, on Wednesday January 9, 2019 with visitation at 9:30 and a service at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army or the Denton Animal Support Foundation.
