Kevin Gene George July 20, 1968 – May 08, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Kevin Gene George, 50, of Sesser, passed away at 12:59 A.M., Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Kevin was retired from the United States Army. He was a Persian Gulf veteran.

Kevin was of the Christian faith. He was born July 20, 1968 at Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Charles Arthur and Mary Louise (Quinn) George. He married Nicole M. Smith on May 17, 2008 at Du Quoin, IL and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Sesser, three children – Joshua George of Sesser, Justyna Reid of Du Quoin, and Jacob George of Sesser, two step children – Jesse Smith of Du Quoin and Devin Austill of Texas, one brother – Bill George of Du Quoin, five sisters – Donna Cauble of Dongola, Mary Miller of Du Quoin, Christina Olkoski of Sesser, Pamela Morgan of Grand Tower and Kathy Matlock of Murphysboro, and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step daughter – Ashley Austill, sister – Ginger McIntire, and four brothers – Charles, Jerry, Roger, and Ronald. Per Kevin’s request, cremation services were held.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
