Kim Dwayn Hansen of Dietrich, Idaho graduated from the school of hard knocks June 2, 2018 at the age of 66. Kim was born December 11, 1951 to Dwayn and Arlena Hansen in Brigham City, Utah. He was the oldest of 5 children and was a great example of patience to his family.

He attended school in Bear River, Utah, Hagerman and Hailey, Idaho. He received his mission call to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania mission one day before he was drafted. When his mission was completed the draft was no longer in effect, so he was able to marry the love of his life, Annette Lloyd Hansen, November 1, 1973 in the Salt Lake Utah Temple.

They had 10 children; 7 boys and 3 girls, which he cared for very much. He wanted the best for his children and was always willing to help them as much as he was able. He especially wanted them to have a close relationship with their Savior.

Kim had many different skills and worked in farming, carpentry, logging, as sawmill operator (in fact he loved sawmills so much he proposed to Annette at the Lloyd sawmill in Hagerman), county road foreman, and as a truck driver. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He appreciated a nice handgun or rifle and always had a favorite close by.

He enjoyed reloading his own bullets and was an avid reader of western books. With his ever-present cowboy boots and hat, pistol at his side, and quiet ways he was the definition of a western gentleman. He was a man of few words but had a very big heart!

He joined his mother, grandparents, and a nephew on the other side. He will be waiting patiently for his wife, 7 sons, 3 daughters, his father, 3 brothers, 1 sister, sons and daughters in law, and 19 grandchildren with more on the way. A viewing will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome.

Funeral services will be held at Noon, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 with a viewing beginning at 11 am, at the Dietrich, Idaho LDS Chapel. The graveside will follow at the Hagerman Cemetery. We love you and miss you!

See you on the other side. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Kim’s memorial webpage at www. farnsworthmortuary.com.
