Kinsley Grace Burkhead, age 10, ran into the arms of Jesus early Wednesday morning, April 24, 2019 when she passed peacefully in her sleep. She was born March 26, 2009 in Louisville, KY to Michael and Tina, the second eldest of five children. Kinsley was one of a kind, born with an extremely rare deletion on Chromosome 6 resulting in multiple health conditions.

While she faced many physical limitations and cognitive delays, she had a smile that could light up a room and her laughter was infectious. She was greatly loved and cherished by her parents and siblings. While we grieve in her absence, we take great joy knowing she is dancing, singing, running, jumping, talking, eating, and doing everything her earthly body wouldn’t allow thanks to the hope we have in Jesus.

We thank her original pediatrician, Dr. Christy Lane; her family doctor, Dr. Molly Rutherford; the countless specialists & nurses who have been part of her care from the time she was born; Norton Children’s Hospital; Cincinnati Children’s Hospital; and Bob Doman with National Association for Child Development who kept us on the path of helping Kinsley achieve her absolute highest potential. We thank our church family at Southeast Christian Church who have walked with us these 10 years, from the time we were given her diagnosis through the details surrounding her life celebration. Kinsley is survived by her parents, Michael and Tina Burkhead; her older sister, Kayleigh; twin younger sisters, Kylie and Kelsea; her younger brother Kysaac; her maternal grandparents, Randy and Kathy Cravens; maternal great-grandparents Don and Winnie Cravens and Rowena Hill; paternal grandfather, James Michael Burkhead Jr.; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Burkhead and maternal great-grandmother, Donna Radford.

A celebration of her life will take place at Southeast Christian Church ~ Chapel In the Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, KY on Sunday, April 28. Visitation will take place from 2-4 pm immediately followed by a service celebrating Kinsley’s life. Kinsley’s sisters request everyone wear bright colors to honor Kinsley.
