OBITUARY Klara Valla “Bertini” September 8, 1927 – November 15, 2018 Klara Valla “Bertini”, age 91, of Sarasota passed away on Thursday November 15, 2018. She was born September 8, 1927 in Holosov, Czech Republic to the late Vaclav Smid and Karolina (Berouskova) Smidova. Klara performed in many countries in Asia, Europe and North America as a renowned circus performer, both on the high and low wire and unicycles, retiring at the age of 60.

The “Bertinis” were inducted into the St. Armand’s Circle “Ring of Fame” in 2006. Following her retirement, she worked for Publix until the age of 73. She was a member of the Daybreak Center of Meals on Wheels Plus, Bradenton.

She is survived by her loving children, Klara Mascitto (Leo) of Bradenton, Georg Valla (Linda) of Sarasota and Monica Staup (Eric) of Bradenton and cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony and Michael Mascitto, Christina Goodwin (Jacob) and Bonnie Cecil (Brandon) and great grandson, Blake Cecil. A memorial service will be held at a later date at The Tabernacle, Sarasota. Memorial contributions may be made in Klara’s honor to Tidewell Hospice, Meals on Wheels Plus or The Tabernacle.
