Kristin B. (Turner) Rouse February 16, 1951 – December 13, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Kris passed away peacefully at home next to her loving husband, Ted. Kris returned to heaven to see her father, William (aka Bill) Turner and step-daughter, Laura Rouse, along with many beloved family members and friends who preceded her in death. Kris was the first child of William and Patricia Turner, born in Biloxi, Mississippi where her father was stationed in the Air Force.

The Turner family moved back to Connecticut, then to North Dakota, and finally in 1956 to Coon Rapids, Minnesota where she grew up and graduated from Coon Rapids Senior High in 1969. Her first job was at Han’s Bakery in Anoka, Minnesota. After learning to bake, Kris tried her hand at decorating which is where her cake decorating passion began.

Kris baked and decorated over 30 wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends over the years. Besides baking, Kris also loved to make sweet treats for her family while listening to: Herman’s Hermit’s, Connie Francis, Juice Newton, Dolly Parton, Beatles, and every Christmas song ever made. Kris loved her husband Ted for over 33 years.

Kris and Ted typically worked at the same company and were always willing to try a new adventure. The most memorable job they accepted as a team was working at Father Flanagan’s Home for Boys in Omaha, Nebraska, as Family Teachers. Kris was deeply attached to this position; always hoping her guidance would have a positive impact on troubled youth.

Kris was the proud, loving mother to Ben, Amy and Brenda; her three children with first husband Roger. She was a wonderful step-mother to Laurie, Jim and Corrie, Ted’s three children. Kris has always been very close with her sisters and looked forward to the “Turner Sisters” get togethers.

Kris loved her family and would brag about her Norwegian heritage. We will miss Kris’s blue eyes and silly giggle. Kris is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Theodore Rouse; mother, Patricia Turner (Krogness); children, Benjamin Nienow, Amy (Josh) Nienow-Nelson, Brenda (Daniel) Schnabel, James (Berenice) Rouse, Corrine (Peter) Rivers; grand-children, Laremy, Jeremiah, Mia, Alana, Vincent, Calvin, Priscilla, Michael, Christopher, Alexander, John, Luke, Mark; siblings, Maureen (Mark) Bowman, Joyce (Chuck) Charest, Jean (Mike) Schneider, William (Worawan) Turner III, Ellen (Greg) Coil; in-laws, David (Penny) Bottorff, Judy Jonas, June Rouse, Tom (Bonnie) Rouse, Gertie Anderson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and family members too numerous to mention.
