Obituary for Kyle Joshua Harte La Force Kyle Joshua Harte La Force, born July 26, 1997 in Chico, California, passed away on March 27, 2018. As an adolescent, Kyle was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy and had a seizure in his sleep that morning. A sophomore at Chico State, Kyle studied mechanical engineering and was a brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter.

In addition to reading, history, and his favorite -debating- , Kyle had a passion for rebuilding cars, riding motorcycles, and snow skiing. His charismatic nature brightened any room he walked into and his practical jokes left all that knew him in stitches. Kyle will be remembered not only for his contagious smile and sense of humor, but also for his thoughtfulness and love for his family and friends.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Roni Harte-La Force of Chico; sister, Britani Hofford of Carmichael; brothers Jordon La Force of Chico; James La Force, III of Seattle; Lucas La Force of St. Louis; David Smith of Chico; and Kier Smith of Chico. He is preceded in death by his dad, James La Force, Jr., of Chico; brother Brandon Charles La Force of Chico; and father John Phillip Smith of Chico. A two day service will be held to honor Kyle and are scheduled as follows: Viewing: April 13th at Bruise’s Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial Service: April 14th at Evangelical Free Church at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to immediately follow at Chico Cemetery.
