Obituary for Kym Renae Jones Cowins Kym Renae Jones Cowins of Ironton, MO passed away at her home at the age of 57 years, 2 months, and 18 days. She was born in Granite City, IL on September 12, 1961 to Larry Jones and the late Shelly Trigg Bakken. On July 11, 2013 Kym was united in marriage to James Cowins who survives.

Also surviving are her father and stepmother Larry and Pat Jones of Arcadia, MO, a granddaughter Mercedes Kessler of St. Louis, MO, a step daughter Michelle Jamese Cowins of St.Louis, three brothers; Monty Jones of North Carolina, Larry Jones Jr. and wife Jamie of Ironton, and Tommy Brogan and wife Brandi of Ironton, one sister Kathy Jones of Ironton, a grandmother Evelyn Trigg of Alton, IL, a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family members and loving friends. Kym is preceded in death by her mother Shelly Bakken, one daughter, Miranda Foster Powell, a granddaughter, Gracee Foster, and her stepfather Chuck Bakken. After high school Kym joined the United States Army where she served a short time before she was injured and was discharged with honor.

She also worked for DCAI Healthcare for several years doing what she did best, taking care and showing love to people. A memorial service celebrating Kym’s life will be held on December 10, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Cole Family Funeral Home with a visitation period beginning at 5:30 pm. Pastor Marty Blakey will be officiating the services.

In lieu of flowers, Kym has asked that memorials be made to her family to help with the funeral expenses or they may be made to the Cancer Society.
