L.G. Holcomb passed away November 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Clara House Holcomb and his daughter, Debbie Holcomb Cox. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Marc McQuary, son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Angie Holcomb and Frank and Mary Cox.

He was a loving grandfather to his grandkids, Scott McQuary, Stephen Cox (Brooke), Jonathan Cox, Kristen Cox Godwin (Blake), Griffin Holcomb and Claire Holcomb. He has 6 great grandchildren, Mason McQuary, Baileigh Cox, Ellie Cox, Camden Cox, Carter Godwin and Caroline Godwin. He is also survived by a brother, Benny Holcomb of Gillsville, GA.

He was an amazing uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. L.G. was born on September 16, 1927 in Gillsville, Georgia. He was one of 4 children.

He married Clara in 1950. A few years later, they moved to Doraville where L.G. worked at General Motors. He retired from the Doraville GM Plant after working 38 years.

He was a member of Doraville First Baptist Church for more than 60 years where he served as a Deacon. He will be remembered for loving and providing for his family and caring for all of those around him. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 2nd, from to 2:00 – 4:00 pm and on Monday prior to the funeral from 10:00 – 11:00 am.

A funeral service will be held at Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth Chapel, on Monday, December 3rd at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in L.G.’s memory can be made to: The First Baptist Church of Doraville, 5935 New Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30340.
