Obituary for Larry Gene Flesner Larry Flesner, born September 1, 1947, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018, at the age of 70. Born in Stillwater, Larry traveled extensively as the son of an Air Force Colonel, but came back to his roots, becoming a Sooner, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and graduating from the university of Oklahoma in 1969. He was commissioned into the Air Force the same year, where he served until 1972.

He then began his golf career, where he helped build Cedar Valley GC from the ground up. In 1982, he accepted a position at John Conrad GC in Midwest City where he spent 23 years and made many lasting friendships. He took pride in his craft and helped others develop a love of the game.

He went on to work for Choctaw Creek GC and most recently, Oak Hills CC in Ada. In his golf career, he established lifetime membership with the PGA of America with 42 years of service. Larry is survived by his three children; son Jeff Flesner and wife Jacquelyn, their children Cade and Dayton Flesner of Rhode Island, daughter Maxi Erdmann and husband Nathan Erdmann their children Claudia, Chloe, Cash and Gracie Cate of Keller, TX and son Luke Flesner and fiancée Brylee Williams of Choctaw, OK.

He is preceded in death by his father, Colonel Gene Flesner, mother Marcia Flesner, sister Rodney Florey and nephew Greg Evans. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 2:00 pm at Ford Funeral Service, 305 S. Sooner Road, Midwest City, OK. In addition, there will be a Celebration of Larry’s life held August 12, 2018 at 3:00 pm at 1501 Cedar Valley Manor, Cedar Valley, OK.
