Dow: Larry Glassmeyer, 75, passed away at 12:09am on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. He was born on September 25, 1943, in Alton, the son of the late Leo and Velma (Coin) Glassmeyer, Sr He married the former Wanda Sheppard and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Tonya and Andy Walter of Highland and their children: Hayley and Hayden, Amanda Glassmeyer of Wood River, two sons and daughters in law: Jerry and… Read More » Anne Glassmeyer of East Alton and their son and daughter in law: Gregory and Kacie Bamert, Carl and Christina Glassmeyer of Fairfield, Ohio and their children: Vanessa and Maxwell, three sisters: Bernice Esther Mouser of Alton, Betty Lavon Williams of Okemus, Michigan, Mary Lou Moody of Alton, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Larry was formerly employed as a foreman at Olin Corp. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Leo Glassmeyer, Jr., Gerald Eugene Glassmeyer, and Glen Ray Glassmeyer. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial will be at Liberty Prairie Cemetery.
