Larry LeRoy Parton, Sr. 97 of Webster Springs passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born December 09, 1921 in Stone Mountain, GA to Napoleon Boneparte and Maddy Hopkins Parton and was a mechanic for the WV Department of Highways. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII, a member of the Mason (Scottish, York, Rites), Shriners, Past Commander of the VFW, and the American Legion.

He had a great work ethic, was an Evangelist, enjoyed flowers and gardening, and spending time with his grandkids. Larry is survived by his wife Ina Jean Carpenter Parton; children Rick (Lisa) Parton of Cowen, Shawna (Mike) Olivarez of Chicago, IL, Larry (Sue) Parton, Jr., Jimmy (Carmen) Parton of Tucson, AZ, Frances (Rick) Chitty of Tucson, AZ, Bobbie (Janice) Creech of Tucson, AZ, George (Rachel) Creech of Phoenix, AZ, Juanita Parton of Cleveland, OH, Wonona Parton of Tucson, AZ; 26 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Pat Ellis.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 5:00 PM with Pastor Joan Stewart officiating. Military Honors will immediately follow.
