Larry R. Padgett, Sr., age 77, of Washington, Indiana passed away at 6:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Ed Lee Funeral Home in Washington, Indiana with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Tom Watson will be officiating.

Burial will be at Sugarland Memorial Gardens in Washington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.

edleemortuary.com Larry was born on September 7, 1941 in Washington, Indiana, the son of Rexall and Bernice (Fox) Padgett. He married Judith Kay Chapman on August 31, 1961 in Vincennes, Indiana. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a former member of the Cornettsville United Methodist Church in Daviess County.

He enjoyed hunting, collecting knives and guns, fishing, woodworking, being outdoors and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Judy Padgett of Washington, Indiana; three sons, Larry Padgett, Jr. (wife Stacey) of Loogootee, Indiana, Gary Padgett and Robert Padgett both of Washington, Indiana; one daughter, Anita Pagel (husband Clayton) of St. Elmo, Illinois; two brothers, Donald Padgett (wife Lynn) of Southern Pines, North Carolina and Mike Padgett of Washington, Indiana; one sister, Joyce Binning of Southern Pines, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Melissa Russell, Lacey Padgett, Greg Padgett, Melinda Hoss, Skyler Padgett and Cordell Padgett; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Benjamin Russell; and his fur-baby, Fancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rexall and Bernice Padgett; two sisters, Jean Sargent and Lorene Padgett; two brothers-in-law, Ron Binning and Doyne Sargent.
