Larry Roger Sturgill passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Larry was born April 17, 1950 in Ashland to the late James and Virginia Adams Sturgill In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Rosemarie Sturgill Roark. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy where he retired as a machinist.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years Deborah Kay McComas Sturgill; two sons Gregory Sturgill… Read More » of Virginia Beach, VA and Scott Sturgill of Moncks Corner, SC; three daughters Melanie Welch (David) of Silverdale, WA, Jennifer Stokes (Michael) of Summerville, SC and Tiffany Sturgill of Ashland; two brothers Jimmy Sturgill and Fred Sturgill both of Ashland; 10 grandchildren Robert Brooks, Christina Brooks, Arthur Diaz, Victoria Diaz, Isabella Welch, Anthony Hooks, George Hooks, Vanessa Hooks, Madeline Crank and Parker Parlor; three great-grandchildren Ian Brooks, Aubrey Mangual and Alana Mangual; along with a host of extended family and friends. Graveside services will be 12:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2018 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy and American Legion of Kenova Post #93.
