Laura J. Soma (nee Shelley) It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Laura J. Soma. She passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. Much loved Daughter of Larry and the late Regina (nee Okonski) Shelly.

Devoted and Loving Mother of Tana; Dear Sister of Dave (Sherry) Shelley, Robert (Melanie) Shelley, Steve (Lynn) Shelley. Fond Step Daughter of Carol Shelley and Step Sister to Kathy Stai; Laura was a warm hearted Aunt to many nieces and nephews a cousin to many and friend to all. Preceded in death by her mother, Regina; her sister, Debbie Moretti and Brother in Law Jim.

A dedicated employee of One, Ocean Network Express and long time resident of Channahon. The joy of Laura’s life was her daughter, Tana. Laura was an animal enthusiast and a travel buff.

She enjoyed swimming and spending time with her family. A special person a special face, a special someone we cannot replace. A Memorial Gathering for Laura J. Soma will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5:00 PM until Service begins at 7:30 PM at The Maple Funeral Home, 24300 W. Ford Rd, Channahon.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Preferred Memorials are gifts in Laura’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice. www.
