Laurette Marie Lindeman Dellinger , December 17, 1946 — February 13, 2019

Laurette Marie Dellinger, 72, of McHenry, was born December 17, 1946 in Chicago to Walter and Gladys (nee Sykora) Lindeman. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in Woodstock. Laurette was raised in Park Ridge and was fortunate to spend many childhood summers at Thunder Lake in Crivitz, WI.

After high school, she attended Eastern Illinois University for several years. She then started her career at United Airlines where she met her future husband, Robert Dellinger, on a ski trip. They married on February 2nd, 1969.

In the early 1970s, they moved their young family to the Pacific Northwest. Here, Laurette’s adventurous spirit thrived. She spent years exploring the waters of the Puget Sound, visiting State Parks, skiing the Summit at Snoqualmie, and traveling frequently to Canada.

She and her family were active participants in the Kent Jaycees, Des Moines Yacht Club, and the Green Tree East neighborhood. Later, they moved back to Illinois. She then started a second career as a cosmetologist and was a member of the Marengo Presbyterian Church, as an elder and choir member.

She spent the last year and half of her life in friendship, as an engaged resident of Heritage Woods McHenry, always playing cards and a member of Resident Council. She was a frequent attendee and cheerleader at her grandson’s activities. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, much loved sister, and an adored best friend.

Anyone who met Laurette called her their friend. Laurette is survived by her children, Joe (Sue) Dellinger, Julia (Rob) Baser and Julie (Tim) Pester; her five grandsons: Greg, Bobby, Samuel, Brendan, and Caleb; her dear sister, Lenore (the late Jim) Vizethann; her brother-in-law, George Kramer; her sisters-in-law, Fran (Bill) Kalboth and Ann (Marc) Moore; her cherished extended family, too numerous to mention; beloved friends near and far; and the residents and staff of Heritage Woods McHenry. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11am, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, 8505 Church St., Crystal Lake. Friends and family are encouraged to wear their favorite color. Interment is private.
