Laurie Ann Freeman, 60, died Friday evening March 8, 2019 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. She was born in Newburyport on September 15, 1958 to Joanne (Murphy) Keefe and the late Charles Linnell. Laurie was a lifelong resident Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School Class of 1976.

She was employed for 20 plus years at Shaws Supermarket before her employment Verizon for an additional 20 plus years until her retirement. In 1988 she married her late husband Fred Freeman. They lived in Amesbury for a time before settling back home in Newburyport.

Laurie enjoyed traveling with Fred and close friends, especially to places like California, Las Vegas, Florida, and Block Island, as well as several cruises. Laurie was a very social person, thoughtful and big-hearted, and loved nothing more than spending time with friends and family. She was an avid Patriots fan, enjoyed watching the Red Sox, and loved following golf tournaments especially when Tiger was playing Laurie is survived by her mother Joanne (Murphy) Keefe of Salisbury; sister Andrea Gathany and her husband Doug of Maine; brother Steve Linnell and his wife Linda of Florida; and brother Paul Linnell and his partner Heidi of Belgium; many nieces, nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Monday March 11, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday March 12, 2019 in the Funeral Home followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Laurie’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
