Laverna V. Chick, 97, of Butler passed away on December 14, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries. Born February 21, 1921 in Jefferson Twp. , PA, she was the daughter of Henry Nicholas Strobel and Amelia C. Wagner.

Laverna was a member of Crosswinds Alliance Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and animals. Surviving are 2 sons, James (Robin) Chick of Butler and Garry (Nancy) Chick of Port Matilda, PA, 2 grandchildren Matthew (Abigail) Chick, Katherine (Mark Evans) Chick, 1 great-granddaughter, Lena and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph G. Chick on November 16, 1993 and 7 brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation or services. Interment will be in the Mt.

Airy Cemetery in Natrona Heights. Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society 1015 Evans City Road Renfrew, PA 16053.
