Laverne Iva Proctor Johnson was born on May 7, 1927 in the small town of Woodland Ca to loving parents Ernest and Ivie Proctor. Laverne went home to be with the lord February 27th, 2019. The Proctor family moved from Woodland Ca.

To Manteca Ca. in the early 1930’s. Laverne was the middle child of the Proctor family; with one older brother Daniel and one younger brother Calvin who both preceded her in death.

Laverne grew up and finished high school in Manteca. Laverne went to work at Lathrop Army Depot in 1945 where she met the love of her life Roger L. Johnson. They were married in 1947 and were fortunate to share a life together for 39 years until his death in 1985.

Laverne started her 30 year career working for the War Dept in Lathrop Ca. , transferred to the Naval Supply Center in Oakland, then finished at the Concord Dept of Defense. She retired as Deputy Ordnance Officer in 1982.

Laverne worked hard and enjoyed the balance between work and family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great- grandmother. Laverne is survived by her three children and spouses; son Roger Johnson (Vickie) of Chico, Daughter Janet Mirts of Chico and son Jeffrey Johnson (Cindy) of Winters, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
