Obituary for Lavonne Janet “Lovey” Grupp (Bracken) Print Grupp, Lavonne “Lovey” J., 94 passed away on January 28, 2019, near her home in Chanhassen, MN. She was born January 12, 1925, in Mason City, IA to Velna and Arthur James Bracken. She married Donald D. Grupp and resided in Mason City where they spent their lives as co-owners of Grupp’s Jack and Jill Grocery Stores until they retired in 1979 to Lakeland, FL.

Following in her sister Marian’s footsteps, her greatest accomplishment and contribution in life was the creation of handmade quilts for “Bundles of Love”, serving 500 families in need. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Frenz, son Scott Grupp, grandchildren Shelly Schwieso-Kramarczuk, Clair Grupp, Todd Grupp, and Cynthia Abrego, as well as 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marian Flynn, brother Donald Bracken, son Tom Grupp, grandson Jason Grupp, and special friend Ed Heimerl.

There will be a Celebration of Life reception open to all at Centennial Hills on April 20th, at Noon, 820 Santa Vera Drive, Chanhassen as well as a family burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, IA.
