Lawrence A Taylor , August 16, 1938 — May 19, 2019

Lawrence was born on August 16th, 1938 in Bristol, Ohio. He was the son ofJohn G. Taylor and Claira L. Myers. He was the brother to John G. Taylor Jr., Barbara Stout, Irene Hamn, Janet Parker, and Joan Ledman.

He was the husband to Joan F. Taylor (nee. Hotz). Lawrence was the father to three children; Lawrence A. Taylor II, Penny L. Taylor (Hartka), and Terri A. Taylor (Katz).

He was a father-in-law to Susan Dubrule, Michael P. Hartka Sr., and Eric B. Katz. Lawrence was also the grandfather to eight grandchildren, Lawrence A. Taylor III, Matthew B. Hartka, Breanna M. Taylor, Erin M. Hartka, Buddy Katz, Michael P. Hartka Jr., Dale E. Taylor, and Izabel J. Katz. Lawrence enlisted in the United States Navy August 31st, 1955.

He then was honorably discharged August 13th, 1959. Lawrence then proceeded to work as a mechanic for the State of New Jersey for 33 years. Pepop loved being outside, and always wanted to ride on his John Deere tractor.

He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and perform in front of crowds. Dad loved playing with his animals. He always called them his puppy puppies.

He loved the wildlife, and loved to watch them come to him as he would give them treats. Daddy was known lovingly to everyone as LT. He always worried about others before himself.

He always had a smile on his face, and joke or a story to tell. You would always see Grandpop with a cup of coffee in his hand, either from a trip to Wawa or a walk from the kitchen. Grandpa enjoyed pressing his luck, by playing his lottery numbers.

Grandpop was always there for his grandchildren. He was always the designated family taxi. He could easily spark up a conversation with anyone, including the “pretty ladies” from every store.

Grandpop was very knowledgeable, hands-on, and always active. He dearly loved his family and grandchildren. Grandpop was always the life of the party and always had a way to cheer people up.

Lawrence left a lasting impression on every individual he encountered in his life. He will always be remembered as a kind hearted, self-less, and loving man. Memorial service will be held 11 am, Saturday, May 25th at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 am until time of service. Interment will be private.
