Lawrence’s Obituary Lawrence Krenz, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in Mankato, MN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 2:00PM with Rev. Nathan Rusert officiating; with a visitation one hour prior, at Zaharia Family Funeral Home in Truman.

Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Truman. www. ZahariaFamilyFuneral.com Lawrence Herman Emil Krenz was born June 8, 1925, to Walter and Alvina Krenz in Sanborn, MN, the fourth child of eight children.

He was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran and graduated from Truman High School in 1943. His Navy assignment in WWII was as a flag signalman to ships in the Atlantic Ocean. He married Joan Williams on December 9, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA.

He was employed by 3M in Fairmont, owned and operated a drive-in in Farmington, and later the Hollywood Motel and Restaurant in Clearwater, MN. A carpentry career started as he and Joan built several homes on the “Krenz” cul-de-sac in Clearwater, MN. Lawrence expanded into driving a sightseeing bus all over the nation.

His passions were flying, golfing, and fishing. He and Joan retired to Mesa, AZ and returned to Redwood Falls, MN in 2000. He attended St. John Lutheran in Redwood Falls.

He is survived by his wife Joan of Oak Terrace in Mankato; sisters, Aralia Taylor of Chicago, IL and Arlene Peters of Mankato; brothers-in-law, Marvin, Dean and Dale Williams and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Marsha; his parents; sisters, Lucille Brownlee and LaVee Quade and brothers, Vernon, Val and Ralph Krenz.
