OBITUARY Lawrence P Theobold August 27, 1930 – September 26, 2018 Lawrence Paul Theobold , age 88, passed away on Wednesday September 26, 2018. He was a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, residing for the past thirteen years in Prairieville, Louisiana. Mr. Theobold was the husband of Bessie Arostegui; the son of the late Walter and Emily Mercier Theobold; father of Lawrence J. Theobold (Darcy) of Prairieville, LA, Donna Theobold Melerine (Gary) of New Orleans, LA and the late Wayne Theobold; brother the late Walter Theobold, Roberta Theobold Mueller, Louis Theobold, Julius Theobold, Muriel Theobold Barnes, Olga Theobold Caillouette, Dolores Theobold Conway, Robert Theobold, Joseph Theobold, Eugene Theobold, Mary Theobold Sandrock, Ferdinand Theobold, Christopher Theobold, Donald Theobold ; proud grandfather of Brooke Theobold, Jordan Theobold (Nicole), Michael Melerine (Stacey) and Gary Melerine Jr. (Antu); He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.

Lawrence was a beloved husband, father, and paw-paw who always looked after his family. He had a generous heart, a loving smile, and spirited personality. Lawrence was a pattern maker in the Service Boundary Department Division of the Avondale Shipyard for 42 years.

He loved sports, especially his beloved New York Yankees, New Orleans Saints, and LSU Tigers. He loved shopping for a good bargain and always had extra of everything. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Ascension Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Compassus Hospice for their loving care and support. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at OURSO FUNERAL HOME, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, LA 70737 on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel.
