Obituary for Lawrence Douglas Lawrence Theophilus Douglas went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 8, 2018. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Lawrence was born in St. Paul’s, St. Kitts on July 27, 1934.

He was the 2nd oldest of 9 children. In 1970 he moved to Boston, MA where he married that same year to Phyllis Hanley. They later had 3 kids: Dwight, Wayne and Gail.

Lawrence was a frugal man who worked hard to provide for his family. He worked for over 10 years as a bookkeeper at Sriberg Furniture store in Boston while raising his family. In 1987, he embarked on a new career path with State Street Bank where he worked in the Accounting Division until his retirement in 2003.

For most his time in Boston, Lawrence was an active member of the Beulah Pilgrim Holiness Church where he served in many different ministries and capacities. He was a man of great faith and it is this same faith that got him through the heartbreaking passing of his 1st wife in 1985, the passing of his 2nd wife in 1996, and later the passing of his daughter in 2009. Throughout these trials and tribulations, his faith in God never wavered and helped him to persevere.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons Dwight Douglas and Wayne (Malisheia) Douglas; his sisters Althea (William) Fowler, Janet (Peter) Paul, and Henrietta Douglas; his brothers Ivan Douglas, Peter (Sheila) Douglas, and the Right Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas; his grandchildren Xavier Douglas, Aaron Douglas, Jonathan Douglas, and Shane Douglas; his uncle John Douglas; his goddaughter Paula (Andrew) Josephs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of life services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 20, 2018 at Dorchester Immanuel Church of the Nazarene, 806 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124 with Rev. Dr. Christiana Thorne officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before service at 10 AM. Interment: Mt.
