Lawrence L. “Larry” Pence, 71, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Genoa Care Center, Genoa, Ohio. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on June 15, 1946, a son of the late Lawrence & Sarabell (Kies) Pence. Larry was a retired employee of the Ohio Turnpike, and was previously employed at the former Kelsey-Hayes Kingsway Plant.

He was a former member of the U.S. Air National Guard, and was a member of American Legion Post #114, Oak Harbor, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. On December 31, 2003, Larry married the former Mary Lou Hetrick, and she survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Mari Bakx, Clyde, Ohio; step-daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Fillmore, Oak Harbor; brother, Jeff (Emily) Pence, Urbana, Ohio; sisters, Melinda (Ray) Collins-Stephans, Edmonton, Kentucky, and Sarita Mollman, Casstown, Ohio; sister-in-law, Linda Pence, Sidney, Ohio; grandchildren, Alyssa, Anneliese Bakx, Kelsey Heberling, and Kyra Fillmore.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Mike Pence. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Saturday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, April 22, 2018. Rev.

David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, where graveside rites will be provided by American Legion Post #114 and V.F.W. Post, #8732. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or the Kidney Foundation.
