Le’Sharia Bre’Aun Steele, born December 12, 1989 in Limestone County to Brenda Byrd and Leon Steele. She transitioned to her heavenly home on October 27, 2018 in San Diego, CA Bre’Aun gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a faithful servant of Grace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie M. Byrd, where she served in the choir and as an assistant with the Children’s Church Ministry. She was a graduate of Tanner High School Class of ’08 and Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

To know her was to love her. Known for her infectious smile, Bre’Aun was a humble individual that touched the hearts of many with her sense of humor. She had a great love for people.

especially children, and was found to be a trusting confidant. Loving to travel and socialize, she could not have chosen a more suiting career for her than that of a flight attendant. Bre’Aun was also a strong advocate for voting and would be at the polls on November 6th encouraging everyone to go out to make his or her voice count.

Bre’Aun was preceded in death by her grandparents: George, Sr., and Phyllis Steele and Milton and Inez Byrd; uncles: George Steele, Jr., James Steele, Casey Steele, Willie Sweatt, James Byrd and Donald Peoples; aunts: Maude Sweatt and Pamela Byrd. Bre’Aun leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted and caring mother, Brenda Byrd of Athens, AL; her father, Leon Steele of Athens, AL, who treated her like the Daddy’s little girl she was; her sister, Angela Thatch of Athens, AL; her brother, Trevin (Sammi) Byrd of Jacksonville, FL; and two nephews, Trevaris Byrd of Jacksonville, FL and Jakori Thatch of Athens, AL. Also left to cherish her memory are her uncles: Bobby (Edwena) Steele, Minister David Steele, Raymond (Ola) Steele, Charles (Janie) Byrd, Pastor Willie M. (Mary) Byrd, Terry (Renita) Byrd and Winford Byrd; her aunts: Stevanna (Willie) McCullough, Diane Steele, Mary Steele, Arinze Steele, Mary Peoples, Alice (James) Binford, Elizabeth (Lonnie) Shoulders, Janice (David) Foster and Rachel Byrd; and a superabundance of cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Round Island Creek Mission Center (13829 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens, AL 35611) with Pastor Willie M. Byrd officiating. Interment will be in Sowell Cemetery in Tanner, AL. Ms. Steele will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time with Royal Funeral Home-Mason Chapel of Athens, AL directing.

Arrangements in San Diego were with Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary.
