Leah Rae Larsen Parsons passed away of heart failure in the early morning hours of May 24, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Valerie in Draper, Utah. She was born in Manti, Utah on January 1, 1934. Leah was the first of five children born to W. Max and Lucille Bessey Larsen.

Leah graduated from Manti High school in 1952. She had a beautiful soprano voice and starred in her high schools production of the “Madam Butterfly” opera. Leah Rae lived most of her life in the Salt Lake area.

She was a hard worker throughout her life, traveling across the United States selling magazines, working for the Pacific Trail Coat Factory in Manti and for the State of Utah in Salt Lake. Leah was married to John F. Williams, later divorced; and A. Glenn Parsons, later divorced. She had a strong love for her Savior, Jesus Christ and served many as she volunteered at Rescue Haven Women’s Shelter.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Leah had a sweet tooth, especially for chocolate, and loved to share her treats with her great-grandchildren when they came to visit. She is survived by her children: Shellie Rae Haycock (Brad), Valerie Featherstone (Kelly), and Steven Matthew Thompson (Beckie); siblings: Gary Larsen (Norma), Myra Hoskins, Kim Larsen (Pat), Suzanne Blackham (Lloyd); 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Kirsten Larsen. Leah was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the South Mountain 8th Ward, 1911 E Gray Fox Drive, in Draper, Utah.
