1941-2019 Lee J. Garza, age 77, died in his home surrounded by his loved ones the morning of Feb. 25, 2019. He was born on March 30, 1941, in Melrose, N.M., to Catarino and Stella Garza.

He was the eldest of 12 children. On April 3, 1956, he married Terry M. Sena. He lived in northern California and Los Lunas.

He was a highly-skilled craftsman doing upholstery for more than 50 years. Lee was a very strong, accepting, straight-forward man, and what you saw, is what you got. He made sure that all the kids would get along or he would be the first to correct it.

He loved to work, was funny, carefree and was unapologetically himself, and we all loved him for that! He was very loving, caring and devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lee is survived by his loving wife, Terry, of 56 years; children, Steve Garza and wife, Beverly, Larry Sena and wife, JoAnn, Mark Garza, Melissa and husband, Roger Martinez, Sandra and husband, Martin Plascencia; and many grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Catarino and Stella Garza; two sisters, two brothers and great-grandson, Elijah Tosh. Pallbearers will be Juan and Alex Plascencia, Anthony Garza, and Roger, Gabriel and Dominik Martinez. Services will take place on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a Visitation at 10:00 AM and a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
